13 months and mommy's slacking.

Well, I have totally been slacking in my blogging duties. Christmas has come and gone and a month later the updates begin. (not to mention 13 months as well) The Christmas season was lots of fun for us. Gaga and Papa came up for her birthday and we got a chance to see the ICE display at the Gaylord Texan. We also had many Christmas light looking trips, including one that involved a 2 hour wait (which was worth it for a first visit to this neighborhood.) We also had a cookie swap and decorating party. We spent Christmas morning at our home where Hannah opened many (too many) presents. One of her favorites (from Daddy, of course!) was her Toy Story bounce house. She played in it all morning long. We started a new tradition this year of making cinnamon rolls and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus along with reading an interactive Charlie Brown Christmas book. After cleaning up the disaster area, we climbed in the van and drove to Texarkana to spend the day with John's Dad and family. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays ever. We met a lot of John's extended family for the first time and Hannah had a great time ripping through more paper and eating tasty holiday treats. She especially loved hanging out in the dog bed at John's aunt and uncle's home. We had a great time!
Since the holidays, we have done a lot of resale shopping and visiting with our mommy/baby friends at our coffee mom Wednesdays. John gave me a new sewing machine for my birthday, so I have been motivated to make some fun new items for Hannah. I made a cupcake onsie for her a couple of days ago and I made a couple of items for a friend's baby shower this weekend that I will post pics of them once the shower is over.

Ok...so I started this post at 13 months, and here it is at 14 months and I am finishing it. We have a busy little girl on our hands and these videos just take way too long to download... Hannah now has 12 teeth...all four front teeth up and down and 2 molars up and down. Needless to say she has been very fussy. We had to put her on a formula supplement since she lost weight and left the weight chart. Since then, she has put on a little weight. She is jabbering all the time and says "dada", "cheese", "gog" for dog, "cat", not much of mama though. She also started saying "Woooow." and "woooooh". She is walking everywhere and is climbing now. She whines a lot when she is struggling with something, so that being said, I will be excited when she learns to communicate a little better. We are slowly getting prepared for our trip to Hawaii in April. She will get to meet her Uncle, Auntie, and cousins for the first time. We are super excited! Other than that, she is growing up and I have found that I cannot stop it. :( Here are some pics and a couple of videos of some fun moments.

Hannah's Giraffes in Tutus Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Hannah's first year with a Giraffes in Tutus party. She was joined by all of my family and 5 of her little girl friends as well as some friends from church. We had lots of "giraffe" snacks and sweet treats. We took some really fun pictures and played games. Hannah had her first cupcake and loved it...she rubbed it through her hair and we had to dip her in the bath afterwards! Not too long after, she was a party pooper and fell asleep. We finished off the party with a video collaboration of Hannah's cutest moments. We had a great time! Here are some pics from the party.

Almost 1 Year Old!

Hannah is officially walking and almost running. It is so cute to see her tiny little body walking around the house while she babbles. She is a doll and I can't thank the Lord enough for giving her to us. We are getting ready for her first birthday party on the 11th. Our theme is "giraffes in tutus". We had a friend design the invite and I have been all over town collecting giraffe print items for the party and making tutus for all her giraffe friends. My parents are coming up from Corpus to celebrate as well as one of her aunties.
Hannah also celebrated her first Thanksgiving. She had a great time hanging out with her little cousins and all of the puppies running around. Here are a couple of photos from Thanksgiving as well as couple of videos of her on her feet dancing, walking, and babbling.

11 Months and Counting...

Can't believe Hannah is almost a year old...wow! It seems like it has been forever but like yesterday when she first joined the Parsons' family. Today we went out for pics as usual and she is much more mobile and less interested in posing for the camera. Last week she stood up on her own and about two weeks ago she took her first steps, but since last week, she stopped both. I guess she was just teasing me! At any rate, we finally child proofed the cabinets so she can't get into any dangerous stuff! She loves to play with the diaper caddy in the living room, pulling out all of the diapers. She likes to climb in and sit in all of her toy boxes. She is so smart. She claps, high fives, waves, plays peek-a-boo, and takes things OUT of her mouth when I ask her what is in her mouth and hands them to me!
We went down to Houston this past weekend and she got to see her cousins, Aunties and Uncles, and her Gaga and Papa. It was a fun filled weekend for her. She was so content playing...it was really sweet. We are planning her birthday party...our theme is Giraffes in Tutus. She loves giraffes and we have been hanging on to a tutu that her great Auntie Linda (bobblehead) bought her to wear for her party. It should be lots of fun! We will spend Thanksgiving with my family again so we will be back to Houston for a day since John has to work. I am looking forward to the pictures that will come out of that. Here are a couple of pics from today and a video of her standing.

FIRST STEPS!!!!!

Yesterday Hannah took her first steps! It was so sweet and I am so proud of her! Before long I know she will be into everything. The day before yesterday, we went for a picnic and Hannah played with the ducks a bit. I have included some pics of her playing with the duckies as well as some footage of her taking those first steps. This weekend we are going to host a caramel apple party to celebrate the beginning of fall, endless cravings for pumpkin spice lattes, cooler weather...FINALLY!!!
