Happy 9 Months!!!!

Can't believe Hannah is already 9 months old today! (Actually she is 9 months 4 days by the time I finally posted it.) Time has flown by. She is growing so fast and I can't slow it down...soon enough she will be playing piano, dancing ballet, or maybe even skating a halfpipe for all I know. :) This is what I am praying for...wisdom from the Lord to discover what her purpose is and to help her develop those talents in her life and to have fun in the process. This week it started raining and I thought if Hannah was bigger that I would have to figure out what to do inside to keep her occupied, but I stopped myself in that moment and thought...wait, we would be out in our rain jackets playing in the puddles and making mud pies. Life should never be too serious to overlook fun! In the meantime, I must keep her away from light sockets, lamp chords, and paper...oh paper, why must you be so appetizing??? But little puff picnics on the floor (even if they are from yesterday), chewing shoes for building up immune systems, and apple sauce art will be our highlights for the moment. Hannah is on the verge of walking...she is cruising quite gracefully now, and I have caught her standing up next to objects while touching them as opposed to leaning on them. I am definitely not rushing this one as we have yet to put the cabinet locks on. Hannah attended her first birthday party and a pony one at that! She got to sit on one for a couple of photos, but is too small to ride one on her own...as if that wasn't obvious. :) She and I and her daddy also went to Glen Rose on Labor Day to a drive thru safari. The zebras and some kind of deer like animal were her favs. Giraffes usually are, but they were being stuck "up" most of the time, so she didn't have much interaction with them. She had a big people meal today of chicken and cheese with a little bread and apples. She even tried my hummus and didn't even flinch. She attended her first birthday party and it was a pony party! She got to take a picture on one of the ponyies...of course I posted that one! Oh, horror story tonight....I was pouring some of my face wash into my hands while Hannah was standing near the tub right underneath me and a drop fell directly into her eye! She howled for 20 minutes while I flushed her eye out and then I bonked her heat on the cabinet scrambling to get a wash cloth out. I felt HORRIBLE! She eventually stopped crying and cheered up when I put GaGa on the phone. Thank God for Grandparents! Oh, by the way, Mom and Dad Sibley and Mom and Dad Parsons....Happy late Grandparents day (we missed it on Sunday) We and Hannah are SO blessed to have parents/grandparents like you and we thank God for you!!!

This weekend John watched Hannah all day and both nights and Hannah fussed for him almost the whole time! Poor baby and poor John. He had to bring her up to my conference for me to feed her since she wouldn't eat from the bottle. I guess if I plan to have any time to myself, I better get her used to the bottle again! She also said what sounded like the beginnings of "Dada" today. So sweet. Ok...here are some of her 9 month pictures. Enjoy!!!

New things!!!

Hannah just learned to clap her hands!!! We were out shopping and she just started clapping her hands. That same day, she also gave mommy a kiss. The real exciting part just happened...she said "Ma Ma". She always says "ba ba" especially when you ask her to say mama...I teared up of course. I am not even sure that she was referring to me, but it was too sweet. She is getting to be very mobile. I have caught her letting go of the furniture and standing on her own for just a moment. One of the really cute thing that she has started doing is while I am taking a shower in the morning, she stands at the tub and giggles while she gets sprinkled with water. Before long, I think she will attempt to get in! Here is a video of her clapping. I will try to get in the "Ma-mas".
